Country 99 is excited to welcome the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra‘s performance of The Twins and the Monster to the Centennial Concert Hall on Sunday, May 5th, 2024!
Set in a forest in Africa, this imaginative tale by award-winning author Tolola M. Mollel uses carved masks, singing and movement to bring to life the story of young twins, Azizi and Aziza. Together, they work to outwit a gruesome monster and bring peace to their devastated village.
Based on a traditional African folk tale, this triumphant story travels through dark forests, vast plains and spooky swamps to deliver a thrilling tale of family unity and courage with the help of a lush and magical score by Canadian composer John Estacio.
