“I’ve played a ton of shows in the last 12 months from the Rockies to the red dirt of PEI.” says Riegling. “I’ve had the chance to play for the people that make Canada great. This November, I’m going out on my first national headline tour where the thing that matters most is sharing a moment with my fans. I live for the chance to do this every night: the songs, the feeling, the experience we know is never gonna happen again exactly the same way. I’m gonna bring as much of me and the place I’m from as these rooms can possibly hold.”
Doubling down on his small-town pride, Owen stands by his roots, saying “a handshake and a photo will always be free to my fans”. Rather than charging for an exclusive VIP meet & greet experience, he’ll be encouraging fans to support their local charities as admission for the pre-show experience. Owen has garnered a reputation for his small-town appreciation, bringing a piece of his hometown with him wherever he goes, whether it’s a simple and humble spirit, or the “Welcome to Mildmay” sign from the side of the highway.
The tour announcement comes in the midst of 4x CCMA nominations, including being the first artist in over 30 years to be nominated in both the Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Entertainer of the Year categories in the same year. Owen has also been announced as a performer at the 2024 Canadian Country Music Association® Awards show, airing live September 14 on CTV and hosted by Mackenzie Porter and Thomas Rhett.
After winning the 2022 Emerging Artists Showcase at the Canadian country music mega-fest Boots & Hearts, Owen signed his record deal with Universal Music Canada. Owen’s growing discography includes his current chart-climbing single “Moonshines”, and the Platinum-certified radio hit “Old Dirt Roads”. Owen wrapped 2023 as Apple Music’s UpNext Program and kicked off 2024 selected as Spotify’s Hot Country Artists To Watch and Amazon Canada’s Breakthrough Artists to Watch 2024. With over 100 million global streams, it is clear Owen is maintaining his unstoppable pace and making his mark on the music industry. Recently touring with country stars like Tyler Hubbard, Nickelback, Chase Rice, and Riley Green. Owen continued with many additional festival dates, including Calgary Stampede, Cavendish, LASSO and as well performing internationally at Stagecoach in California. Owen Riegling’s The Old Dirt Road Trip stops in Halifax, Moncton, Vancouver, Kelowna, Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, London, Toronto, Hamilton, Kingston, Ottawa, and Montreal. ABOUT OWEN RIEGLING:
Owen Riegling is the kind of artist so down to earth his boots are always dirty. He’s a small-town kid with his roots firmly planted in the songs he sings. There’s something organic about the way Owen does what he does. It’s hard to put a finger on exactly what makes it so special but it’s even harder to ignore how fast it’s growing. The qualities come through as soon as you hear him sing. Call it obvious authenticity. A lack of pretence. Call it being raised in Mildmay, Ontario, a town of 1200 where keeping yourself grounded is the only way up. It’s no accident that the same small-town humility and authenticity translated on the massive Platinum-certified hit single “Old Dirt Roads”. 2023 was a wild ride for Owen, signing a deal with Universal Music Canada, releasing a series of chart climbing singles, touring coast to coast, surpassing 1.5M monthly Spotify listeners, working with some of Nashville’s biggest writers and producers, and gracing the main stage at Boots & Hearts – all while managing to keep his feet on the ground. Owen wrapped 2023 as Apple Music’s UpNext Program and kicked off 2024 selected as Spotify’s Hot Country Artists To Watch and Amazon Canada’s Breakthrough Artists to Watch 2024. Now, with over 100 million global streams, multiple tours across Canada and a full festival calendar ahead, it is clear the future is bright for Owen as he continues turning new fans into old friends every step of the way. Dirty boots and all.
